Anti Snore Products – A Cost Effective Alternative
Snoring is a no laughing matter I tell you. The noise that comes out of the person’s mouth may seem a tad bit funny but overtime this amusement can turn into irritability. All the noise in the world cannot compare to a snore. If snoring was a ground for divorce, there would probably be a lot of broken marriages now. But it is a good thing that a lot people take the snoring disorder rather seriously. In fact, many companies have done extensive research to come up with some anti snore products that will help minimize the amount of snoring that a person does.
The health care industry has also taken notice of the snore disorder and has developed numerous surgical techniques that may help address a person’s snoring problems. But even so and with the development of these methods, the cure rate is still below 50% and the procedure itself requires the recipient to shell out a considerable sum of money. It is for this reason that anti snore products were developed.
These anti snore products consist of a variety of devices that are said to be able give some relief and comfort to the snorer and allow for a better night’s sleep.
To mention a few, listed a below are some of these snoring aids.
• Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Appliances (CPAP)
• Adjustable Beds
• Dental Appliances
• Stop Snoring Pillows
• Nasal Valve Dilators
• Stop Snoring Sprays
The CPAP is specially constructed mask that applies pressure to keep the throat from collapsing. The source of the pressure is a pump. In treating obstructive sleep apnea, physicians usually turn to CPAPs above anything else.
Adjustable beds on the other hand have not been commercially introduced that much but it can help the person and his/her partner sleep more peacefully at night. It you adjust the bed to a sleeping elevation of 30 degrees, it is said to reduce the occurrence of snoring greatly.
For the dental appliances, there are 3 that are currently available but only one is deemed safe to be used in treating snoring. That one and only device is called the Mandibular Advancement Appliance and they can be acquired from dental professionals or over the counter.
Stop snoring pillows are pillows that a unique design which encourages and facilitates the owner to sleep on his or her side thus reducing snoring.
Nasal Valve Dilators sound fancy but in truth, they are just designed to treat primary snoring. Out of the many types of Nasal valve dilators, the least expensive ones are the adhesive strip worn over the nose bridge while sleeping. This may be the cheapest but they do not come as the most recommended. If you want a better alternative, go for the flexible plastic type which are placed or inserted into the nostrils.
Stop snoring sprays are designed for those who have blockage due to the inflammation of the nasal passages. This is probably the least effective class of anti snore products out there. They are designed to treat snoring by softening tissues or adding moisture to the airway. In reality, snoring is caused by neither hard tissues nor a dry throat.
If surgery is too costly for you, turning to these anti snore products can certainly help save you your buck. It too would also help if you consult your doctor before trying anything.
